Kate van Berkel

Dietitian and Nutritionist
Kate is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who has been working across both public and private health settings for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) and a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics through Monash University. Kate believes in HEALTH AT EVERY SIZE and practices a NON-DIET APPROACH aligned with Surf Coast Mind Body Health’s value of supporting each unique individual finding their own well state – whatever that looks like to them.

She works with clients to provide an individualised, evidence based and practical approach to nutrition that aligns with her clients’ goals. She is a credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician and is experienced in supporting positive food and body relationships. Kate has further training in gut health and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) management for both children and adults. She is also experienced in supporting chronic disease management (osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease), preventative, oncology, and paediatric nutrition as well as positive family nutrition.
As a Registered Dietitian, Kate’s Medicare Rebate is $56.00 with a valid GP Team Care Arrangement, Chronic Disease Management Plan or Eating Disorder Plan. She may offer a concession rate (at clinician discretion).

Initial Consult (60min) Fee: $185
(Out of Pocket GAP = $129)
Standard Consult (30min) Fee:
$115 (Out of Pocket GAP = $59)

Kate currently provides services under Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, NDIS and private referral.
Kate completes a longer initial consult billed at a higher rate, before commencing ongoing standard consults of 30min. The Medicare rebate of $56.00 applies to all consults regardless of length and is available to those with a GP CDM or ED Plan.
